IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING FOR CREDIT
When you apply for credit, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see the applicant’s driver’s license or other identifying documents.
Consent to Autodialer, Pre-Recorded, and Other Calls & Text Messages
I understand that Caribou may call me or send me texts to the number I provided to Caribou or through a marketing partner, and may send offer and update emails to the email address I provided to Caribou or through a marketing partner. Message and data rates may apply. I can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
You also agree that Caribou and Caribou agents may contact you through any means, including emails, SMS, text messages, calls using pre-recorded messages or artificial voice, and calls and messages delivered using automatic telephone dialing systems or an automatic texting system. Automated messages may be played when the telephone is answered, whether by you or someone else, and messages may be left on your answering machine, voice mail, or text messages may be sent. Any call or contact may be on a recorded line or through a recorded messaging service. Depending on the status of your request for and/or use of a Caribou Product and Service, you may revoke your consent to any of the communications described in this paragraph by sending an email to contact@gocaribou.com or through any other means provided through the communication.
Refinance Fees
Caribou does not charge any application or other out of pocket fees. Your new loan may include processing fees, title transfer fees, state fees, or other charges, which vary by lender and by state. You’ll receive an itemized breakdown of fees in your lender agreement to review before finalizing your contract.
State Specific Application Disclosures
For California Residents: Married individuals may apply separately. In compliance with the California Financial Privacy Act, if you are a resident of the State of California and would like to opt-out from the disclosure of your personal information to any third-party for marketing purposes, please contact us at legal@gocaribou.com.
For Maine Residents: You have the right of free choice in the selection of the agent and insurer through or by which insurance in connection with a loan is to be placed, including the right to choose an agent or broker whether or not that agent or broker is affiliated with a Creditor or Lender. Obtaining insurance products from a particular agent or broker does not affect credit decisions by the lender. Your choice of insurance will not affect the credit approval process unless the insurance does not satisfy the contract requirements or the insurance company does not satisfy the reasonable standards of the Lender.
For New Hampshire Residents: If this is an application for a balloon contract, you are entitled to receive, upon request, a written estimate of the monthly payment amount that would be required to refinance the balloon payment at the time such payment is due based on your current refinancing programs. A balloon contract is an installment sale contract with a final scheduled payment that is at least twice the amount of one of the earlier scheduled equal periodic installment payments.
For New York Residents: In connection with this application, a consumer report may be requested in connection with your application. Upon your request, we will inform you whether or not a consumer report was requested and, if it was, give you the name and address of the consumer reporting agency that furnished the report. If your application is granted, additional consumer reports may be obtained without further notice in connection with any update, extension or renewal of credit.
For Ohio Residents: The Ohio laws against discrimination require that all creditors make credit equally available to all creditworthy customers and that credit reporting agencies maintain separate credit histories on each individual upon request. The Ohio Civil Rights Commission administers compliance with this law.
For Rhode Island Residents: Credit reports may be obtained in connection with this application for credit.
For Vermont Residents: You authorize us and any financial service provider with whom this application is shared, to obtain credit reports to evaluate your credit application. If your application is approved and credit is granted, you also authorize all parties granting credit, holding and/or servicing your account, to obtain additional credit reports in connection with your account, as permitted by law.
For Wisconsin Residents: Wisconsin law provides that no provision of a marital property agreement, a unilateral statement under the marital property law, or a court decree, will adversely affect a creditor’s interests unless the creditor, prior to the time the credit is granted, is furnished with a copy of the agreement, statement or decree or has actual knowledge of the adverse provision. If you are making this application individually and not jointly with your spouse, you understand that Wisconsin law requires that your spouse be given notice of this credit obligation.
For Maine, Rhode Island and Tennessee Residents: You must have physical damage insurance covering loss or damage to the vehicle for the term of the contract. You may purchase required insurance through any agent or broker and from any insurance company that is reasonably acceptable to Caribou. You are not required to deal with any of our affiliates when choosing an agent, broker or insurer. Your choice of a particular agent, broker or insurer will not affect our lending partners’ credit decision, so long as the insurance provides adequate coverage with an insurer who meets our reasonable requirements.
